The Rome-Oneida Transmission Rebuild Project is a segment of National Grid's Oneida County Transmission Upgrade proposal.

Project Quick Facts

  • The Rome-Oneida 115kV Transmission Rebuild Project will rebuild approximately 12.5 miles of 115kV transmission line in Oneida County. 
  • The project travels through the city of Rome, towns of Verona and Westmoreland, and the sovereign Oneida Nation.
  • The project will replace an existing 115kV double circuit wire and structures in the right-of-way with two 115kV single circuit lines to meet updated requirements. Additional easements may be needed for the construction and operation of the line.
  • National Grid's substations in Oneida and Rome and on Oneida Nation territory will also be upgraded.
  • Also included are access roads upgrades, and technologies to improve response time and decrease maintenance costs.
  • This project is proposed as part of National Grid's Oneida County Transmission Upgrade in CGPP Cycle One.
