Project Quick Facts

  • The Southeast Batavia-Golah transmission line travels through three counties – Genesee, Livingston and Monroe – and six municipalities: the villages of Caledonia and LeRoy, and the towns of Caledonia, LeRoy, Rush and Wheatland.
  • The project involves a rebuild of approximately 16.3 miles of the 115kV Southeast Batavia-Golah 119 transmission line and associated structures.
  • Also included are technologies to improve response time and decrease maintenance costs.

Current Activities

The project entered the permitting phase with the submittal of the Article VII Application to the New York Public Service Commission in February 2025. We will continue to review transmission corridors for project design and construction plan development, including field walkdowns with National Grid staff and contractors.

Permitting and Participation

This project will require Article VII permitting to proceed. National Grid submitted the Article VII Application - Case no. 25-T-0152 - to the Public Service Commission (PSC) on February 28, 2025.
