Agriculture Survey
Farming is a time-honored tradition in New York and an important part of the economy. Much of the lands surrounding the existing Inghams-Rotterdam transmission corridor in the Mohawk Valley are used for agricultural purposes.
As part of National Grid’s ongoing outreach efforts to better understand the agricultural activities taking place on adjacent lands, we are conducting a survey to gather information from farm operators. This information will help inform construction plans for the project. Our team is committed to working with area farmers to minimize disruption to agricultural lands during construction activity to the extent possible.
We would appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey, located at the link below. If there are active leased farming operations on your land, we ask that you include the lessee’s contact information. If you have any questions or difficulty filling out the survey, please contact our team at 877-551-4743 or [email protected].

Current Activities
The project entered the permitting phase with the submittal of the Article VII Application to the New York Public Service Commission in April 2025. We will continue to review transmission corridors for project design and construction plan development, including field walkdowns with National Grid staff and contractors.

Permitting and Participation
This project will require Article VII permitting to proceed. National Grid submitted the Article VII Application - Case no. 25-T-0262 - to the Public Service Commission (PSC) on April 25, 2025. Copies the Application were provided to officials, regulators, agencies, and public repositories such as town halls and libraries. The Application is also available on the PSC website. For more information about permitting, please see our Project FAQ page.
The permitting process includes opportunities for public involvement and comment from permitting through construction. To contact National Grid with a question or comment, you may reach us by phone at 877-551-4743 or [email protected].
Once National Grid submits its Article VII Application to the Public Service Commission, interested persons who wish to participate as parties in this case may file for party status. This may be done through the Commission’s website. Further instructions will become available here once the Application is submitted.
