Project Quick Facts

• The Oneida-Porter 115kV Transmission Rebuild Project will rebuild approximately 21.5 miles of 115kV transmission line in Oneida County. 
• The project travels through the towns of Marcy, Vernon, Verona, Westmoreland and Whitestown.
• The project will replace an existing 115kV double circuit wire and structures in the right-of-way with two 115kV single circuit lines to meet updated requirements. Additional easements may be needed for the construction and operation of the line.
• National Grid will construct a new substation in Walesville, and upgrade substations in Marcy and Oneida.
• Also included are access roads upgrades, and technologies to improve response time and decrease maintenance costs.
• This project is proposed as part of National Grid's Oneida County Transmission Upgrade in CGPP Cycle One.
